SAFARI ITINERARY
DAY 1: Lake Nakuru National Park
Safari starts at 0700hrs
Meet and greet in Nairobi
This morning a member of Quest Holidays will meet you at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport) or at your Nairobi hotel. After a short briefing on the events ahead, greet our expert safari guide.
Depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive and embark on a game-viewing drive before being transferred to your safari lodge or tented camp for lunch. Relax at leisure in the afternoon then return to the park for another game-viewing experience.
Lake Nakuru is famously known for its large flocks of flamingos, which gather along the shores to feed on the abundant algae. The lake is also a significant breeding ground and stopover for many species of birds and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park hosts one of the largest black rhino concentrations in the country. Other Indigenous mammals seen in the park include the spotted hyena, lion, leopard, hippopotamus (in the north-eastern corner), rock hyrax, bat-eared fox, wildcat, golden cat, Bohor reedbuck, defassa waterbuck, colobus monkey, Rothschild’s giraffe, and white rhinoceros.

DAY 2: Masai Mara National Reserve
Your drive now takes you to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve. Arrive and embark on a game-viewing drive as you are transferred to your lodge or tented camp for lunch. You will have some time to relax before setting out in the company of Quest Holidays experienced safari guide in search of the incredible wildlife in the Masai Mara.

DAY 3: Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, leave your safari camp or safari lodge and spend the day exploring Masai Mara. Our knowledgeable safari guide will introduce you to life in the savanna and share their infinite knowledge about African wildlife. At midday, you will have a picnic lunch in the park.
There is an excellent chance of seeing the Big 5 (lion, leopard, African elephant, cape buffalo, and black rhinoceros), and other popular species like cheetah, serval, hyena, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and side-striped jackals, hippo, crocodile, baboons, warthog, topi, eland, Thompson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, impala, waterbuck, oribi, reed-buck, zebra. With nearly 90 species of mammals and many more bird species, the Mara ecosystem keeps guests eyeing the horizon to spot their next unforgettable sight.

DAY 4: Full day on safari in Masai Mara National Reserve
Full day exploring Masai Mara. Quest Holidays is completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. Your guide will propose the best timings for you, including the game drives and the wake-up time. A wide variety of activities are also available at your hotel; nature walks, bush dining, sundowners, horse riding, night game drives, fly camping, and more.
Each year between July and September, one of nature’s grandest spectacles; the Wildebeest Migration takes place in Masai Mara. Over one-and-a-half million wildebeest accompanied by half again as many zebras and gazelles, begin their migration from the short-grass plains of the Serengeti to the fresh green pastures of the Masai Mara and its conservancies. This epic trek also presents a golden opportunity for many of Africa’s major predators among them, lions and leopards as well as the crocodiles in the Mara-River. The fortunate spectator cannot leave the Mara without feeling blessed seeing this magic and wonder of Mother Nature.

DAY 5: Masai Mara to Nairobi – Departure
After breakfast, check out from your safari lodge and bid farewell to Masai Mara. Drive back to Nairobi. If time permits, visit a souvenir shop to view and buy different art designs by Kenya’s finest designers. Our safari guide will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back home.

Optional flight to Nairobi
To save on time spent on the road, take a flight back to Nairobi. After breakfast, your safari guide will drive you to the nearest Masai Mara airstrip. Board the domestic flight (Safarilink or Air Kenya) departing at 11:00 am to Nairobi with stops at several airstrips. On arrival at Wilson Airport at 12:20 pm, a member of Quest Holidays will meet you and assist with the transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
